The Blotter is a monthly newspaper serving law enforcement professionals throughout New York State. The newspaper contains features and articles of interest to law enforcement personnel ranging from trainingprograms to personal items such as retirements, promotions,new hires, awards, school graduates, and much more.

The Blotter is published on the first Tuesday of each month. A sufficient number of copies of The Blotter are delivered to all law enforcement agencies for all personnel in the department. Free copies are also available for distribution to corrections officers and security company personnel. One year mail subscriptions are available to retirees and others FREE of charge.

All advertisers receive a free copy. The Blotter offers free non-commercial classified ads to all law enforcement personnel and free Help Wanted ads to all law enforcement agencies.

Items may be submitted for publication by fax to our office, by email, or on this website. The deadline for submission of articles or items for publication is the 20th day of the month prior to publication or the following day if the 20th falls on a weekend or holiday. Suggested items to be submitted for publication include: New hires, School graduates, Promotions, Retirements, Births, Deaths, Weddings, Awards, In service training announcements, Planned Programs, Programs in progress, Other news worthy items or suggestions for features.
